To mark World Environment Day, Corona has launched its own Save the Beach campaign which aims to promote the preservation of European beaches.
World Environment Day, celebrated each year on June 5th, is one of the principal vehicles of environmental awareness and is one of the largest events of its kind. Aiming to empower and encourage people to take a stand, World Environment Day promotes an understanding of the key enviromental attitudes that are fundamental to driving change. Additionally World Environment Day is a people’s event with colourful activities such as street rallies, green concerts and parades commonplace at this time around the globe.
Our Corona Save the Beach campaign builds on the project by launching its own initiative to help preserve Europe’s beaches. Teaming up with environmental artist HA Schult, best known for his extraordinary ‘Trash Men’, we have created a pop-up hotel in the centre of Rome made almost entirely from rubbish collected from beaches across Europe. Our first visitor at the hotel was supermodel and eco-warrior Helena Christensen, as well as competition winners from Italy, Spain and the UK staying the night.
This campaign is only the beginning and we need YOU to get involved and help save the beaches! Check out the best of the pictures and videos of the journey so far here and on our Facebook www.facebook.com/savethebeach
