The British final of Miss Earth took place over the weekend, with the winner to represent the UK in a global final in Vietnam. The competition empowers contestants to focus on and promote environmental awareness for a clean, natural and healthy environment.

In order to compete, participants are required to carry out an environmentally-friendly campaign with such topics addressed as planting trees, raising funds for chosen charities, attending various environmental activities, voicing green concerns, promoting a healthy environment and educating people on the three R’s; Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The pageant has also got an issue close to our campaign at its core with 2007’s Miss Earth helping clean up Kuda Beach in Indonesia. Great to see more awareness of serious issues raised on a global scale and we wish the contestants all the best!
