When talking about perfect beaches and idyllic destinations, we usually imagine remote places and wild nature in its purest form. But it has not to be always like that! Many cities offer us beautiful scenarios thanks to their coastlines.

National Geographic made a list of the best beach cities around the world. Keep in mind these destinations in case you decide to make a trip in which urban environment and some of the best beaches of the world coexist in perfect harmony.

But, which are the main ones?

The first one is Barcelona. This is the kind of city you fall in love with; in fact, everyone who visits it does not hesitate to return there again. Its coast has eight beautiful, fine white sand beaches that make this city a perfect destination!

Cape Town is the second most populated city in South Africa, after Johannesburg. It is situated in a privileged location, between the great natural wall formed by Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean, and that is why many people consider it one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

What about Honolulu? The famous capital of Hawaii welcomes a large number of tourists, eager to swim in its in turquoise waters.

On the other hand, the coast of Nice gathers 35 beaches in total, some of them public and some other, private. One of its main attractions is the spectacular view to the Mediterranean you will be able to enjoy from its coastline. Quite a delight!

Last but not least, it is worth mentioning Miami Beach in Florida, an iconic city both in filmmaking history and in tourist guides all over the world. Who would not like to go for a swim in its beaches?

The list goes on! But the most important thing is to take care and to protect these places, as well as to make sure they are not mistreated or polluted even though urban centers are located close to them.
