Over the last month you’ve read our many updates on the Corona Save the Beach Hotel – indeed you may even know how to build your own at this stage! Perhaps you’ve seen us across different media channels as news of the world’s first rubbish hotel has spread rapidly.
More than 50 journalists attended the launch of the hotel, which stood proudly in Rome for World Environment Day (June 5th). Over 40 broadcasters across the globe mentioned the initiative, 50+ articles were printed, while we have been featured on more than 200 online sites and blogs.
The campaign has travelled across places as diverse as South Korea, Brazil, Pakistan, Canada and Vietnam. The diary entries will be cut off as of today but there’s still plenty more to come…
Over the coming months we’ll be maintaining a blog highlighting important green issues and of course discussing the beaches being submitted.
We’ll take this opportunity to remind you once more to upload images and videos of your beach for your chance to win a trip for two to Cancun. Chosen finalists will be selected based on the portrayal of their endangered beach.
On August 23rd a selection of beaches will be put to a public vote and Corona will set about recovering the winner’s beach in September.
Good luck!
