Marcos and Ramon, both from Madrid, are amongst the millions of people around the globe demanding change and a greener environment. With the help of Corona Extra, they intend not only to help clean up beaches around Europe but to inform people of the need to take a stand. All rubbish collected will be used in the building of the Corona Save the Beach Hotel.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be showing you first-hand how the hotel is taking shape and this starts with the initial steps being made by Marcos and Ramon. Having left Madrid for the southern Spanish coast, they will undertake an arduous road trip across Europe, all the time gathering rubbish and simultaneously creating a cleaner, safer environment.
So what are Marcos and Ramon’s first impressions of what they see? Check out the video of their discoveries to date – not exactly a positive reflection on Spanish beaches. Indeed one of the most startling discoveries involved a burnt-out fishing boat that had been buried in sand for who knows how long!
After Spain, our volunteers will hit the beaches of France, Italy and the UK before travelling to Cologne, where our hotel designer, HA Schult, is busy fitting the pieces together in the construction of the world’s first ‘rubbish’ hotel.
Next stop for Marcos and Ramon is France. A storm may be brewing but lets hope our guys take the sunshine with them…
Support our project to save the beaches!!
